Socialist Party's victory amid the right-wing rise in the dream

The Spanish Socialist Workers Party (PSOE) of caretaker Prime Minister Predo Sanchez has won the most seats in the country's fourth general election, but is far from majority. Whereas right-wing parties have benefited substantially. This information was given on Monday. In the last election held in April, it was necessary to hold elections on Sunday after the PSOE fell short of a majority and was unable to form an alliance. According to the news agency Xinhua, the PSOE garnered 28 per cent of the votes on Sunday night with 99.30 per cent of the votes counted, while the party received 28.67 per cent of the votes in April. The party has won 120 seats out of total 350 seats, while in the April elections, the party won 123 seats.

The Conservative People's Party improved its April performance and finished second with 20.81 percent votes and 88 seats won. It won 16.69 percent votes and 66 seats in the last election.

But the biggest winner was Vox, which won 15.10 percent of the vote and 52 deputies and finished third. It won 10.26 percent of the vote and 24 seats in the election held in April.

Vox leader Santiago Abascal said, '11 months ago we had no representation in any institution, now we are the third major party in Spain.'

According to the BBC, addressing the PSOE supporters after the results came out, Sanchez said that 'it is his priority to form a stable government and do politics for the benefit of the majority of Spanish people'.

He said, 'I would like to call upon all political parties that they need to work with generosity and responsibility to overcome the political impasse of Spain.'

The leftist Unidos Podemos also suffered a shock, and its deputies were reduced from 42 to 35. New Left party Mas Pais has got three seats.

Podemos leader Pablo Iglesias said, "Once again we extend our hands to the Socialist Party and the Prado Sanchez." He said that he is ready to start talks with the party on Monday.

According to analysts, Sanchez's PSOE will now need to form alliances with smaller, nationalist parties to form the government.
